Artist Biography
Analy Diego began her professional design career in 2011 after graduating with a Master’s of Architecture from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). As an artist, Analy has dabbled in many traditional mediums but has found technology to be her tool of choice. Her artwork is a reflection of pop culture, architecture and design. It is a vessel for sharing her views, ideas and personal stories relative to her community. Her graphic illustrations are meticulously rendered with emphasis on color, pattern and proportions.
Analy is a Registered Interior Designer (RID) with the State of Texas and professor at UTSA's College of Architecture, Construction and Planning. She joined UTSA in 2015 teaching design studios in Architecture and Interior Design, Materials and Assemblies and Color Theory courses. She draws inspiration from her artistic background in her teaching and design methods. In her projects, she aims to seamlessly merge art, architecture and design.

Artist Statement
One of the most distinctive attributes of my work is the use of bold, contrasting color palettes. This not only represents my admiration for color theorists such as Josef Albers, but a cultural connection to my roots.
I was born in Laredo, Texas and grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; being a part of both countries and cultures has always felt like a blessing. The contrasting, yet complementary experiences I have had throughout my life have shaped who I am as an artist and person.
Art was introduced to me at an early age by my grandfather, a skilled cartoonist. I started painting at the age of six and continued doing so until I joined Architecture School in 2004. Moving to San Antonio felt right at the time, and I was right. San Antonio is a city that embraces people from all walks of life, a city that truly resonates with me, my past and how I foresee my future.
Today, I consider myself a San Antonio artist. I am grateful to my city for giving me opportunities to express myself artistically, and most importantly, for allowing me to be involved with community projects, such as the recreation of the Henry B. Gonzalez mural, now on permanent display at the HBG Convention Center, and the creation of artwork inspired by San Antonio’s 1968 World’s Fair, for The ‘68 Apartments at Hemisfair. I’m excited to continue playing a role in promoting art in our city.
